GALESBURG, Il. – Beloit’s men’s track team took second at the Monmouth (Il.) relays Saturday while the women’s team finished third. Monmouth won both the men’s and women’s competition.

Pete Allen was the only Buc to take first for the men. He captured the 5000 meters in a time of 16-minutes, 5-seconds. He beat teammate Josh Dewar by six seconds. Todd Braje added a second-place finish in the 10,000 meters.

The women won four events. Michelle Mitchell captured the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, while Alanna Moss won the high jump and the javelin. Amy O’Neill, Mandy Koch, Jen Kennington and Paula Sadler combined to take second in the distance medley, while O’Neill was second in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
