Be-Wear O’ Cleats!!!

I went to clean my Speedplay Zero cleats this weekend, when I know noticed significant wear on the right cleat. You’ll see the cleat plate on the left has almost no wear, while the one on the right has a deep grove created by the cleat spring.  Yikes!  Time to replace them.  I’m going to video tape myself pedaling on the trainer to see how my right foot my stroke looks different than the left. A good reminder to check your cleats every now and then.  You don’t want to a cleat to fail during a race or while you’re out on a long ride.  If you have Speedplay cleats, it’s important to lube them every week or so with a dry, Teflon lube.  That will help prevent premature wear and will make clicking in and out easier.
