Moo

Feeling like garbage and with garbage-like weather the  past few days, I thought an easy run would be the perfect medicine. Turns out that I was right.

Despite my peroneal and achilles tendonitis, I knew an “easy” 3 miles would help me mentally.  While running along the lakefront path, I saw that the Loyola cross country race was in progress at Montrose Harbor. Cool.  I decided to run by the course on my way home.  I ended up seeing some runners from the Wisconsin Track Club.  This made my day.

I was a WTC member from 1996-1999, when it was mostly community members and grad students.  We had some awesome runners (including several former UW guys), but we often had trouble fielding a full team (5 guys) in order to score at cross country meets.  I talked to some of the current WTC members and they brought 23 men and women to the Loyola meet. Wow. I guess they have a very active group of current students, which is awesome considering that the UW is a DI school, thus it’s hard to make the team unless you’re a national caliber HS runner.

So, if you’re looking to run with an awesome club in Madison, check out the WTC.  Today sure brought back memories…like the old Moosletters that are still on the web…13 years later!
